A panel of no fewer than four judges will review photographs to determine winners. The panel will be made up of MDF manager/staff, donor representatives and an external photographic consultant. The judges will have discretion to determine eligibility of all entries and reserve the right to disqualify entries from unrelated third parties. Judges are not eligible to enter photos in this contest. All decisions of the judges are final. Winners will be announced by December 1.
When selecting the best photographs under particular categories, judges will give weight to how well a photograph relates to its category, shows how capacity building is conducted or portray the underlying activity being funded by MDF.
Categories are:
- Transfer of skills or knowledge (training, workshop, field visit, community meeting, etc)
- Transfer of assets to local government or communities (hand-over, explanation of asset, etc.)
- Participation
The top three prizes will be offered to photograph that exhibit photographic excellence and tell a story about MDF’s work and developmental impact.
Photographers are encouraged to read “ Tips for Shooting Project Photos” for more guidance on how good shots are taken and what judges are looking for in winning photographs.
